I’m trying to spin more this summer. I do enjoy spinning and hope to keep it up throughout the year. The kitten has been very well behaved when I sit at the wheel or am working with a drop spindle.
There are two spinning events to help keep you motivated. One is already in progress and that’s the Tour de Fleece which goes until Sunday July 27th, 2014. I think it would still be beneficial to participate as it is good training for Spinzilla 2014 which is October 6th through 12th. I’ll be posting more about Spinzilla soon.
I’m not participating officially in Tour de Fleece, but I am trying to find just 5 minutes a day to spin. The daily photos from the participants are inspiring, how could I not spin?
The fiber I’m spinning this summer has lived in the stash for a while, the Golding spindle and Fiber Optic Yarns BFL was purchased at Rhinebeck in 2009, the Bosworth featherweight was purchased at Rhinebeck in 2008. I’m not sure on acquisition dates of some of the other fibers, I received the alpaca that’s on the Bossie as a gift from my inlaws, at least five years ago!
Are you spinning this summer? Would you like to learn?
